Wow! What a movie. A breath of fresh air in the generally unremarkable lineup of the movies from the Hollywood this year so far aside from “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. The acting is beyond brilliant coming from Joaquin Phoenix. Glad he decided not to end his acting career and blessed us with his stellar performance. As for the movie itself, it is dark, but so are the times we leave in. As they say the art imitates reality. The reality is grim and the art follows. This is a serious movie that makes you stop and think, not just watch junk while eating junk. If you look for a movie that is not just a filler for your empty life, go see “Joker”, you would not regret it.
