Of course the critics all love this show - cult director, alternative cast, trans theme, implicit criticism of everything American - what could be more on trend? But back in the real world, viewers who appreciate plot, character development, motivation, pacing and all the other 'traditional' storytelling virtues that conventional directors have spoiled us with, will be quite disappointed. Yes, the soundtrack's great and yes, Italy always looks gorgeous but I have never wanted to reach into the screen and slap a main character more than Frasier. For God's sake, stop trying so hard to be so alternative, boy!
