TLDR; It's the clown world netflix adaptation of supernatural and it's bad, very bad.. Remove everything good in supernatural, add in all the forced social justice propaganda of today, and you have october faction. It's full of interracial couples, homosexuality, forced diversity, of course copious amounts of vulgarity, over-the-top killing scenes, and endless "woke" preaching.
Anyone who has ever watched supernatural is going to be able to spot this cheap ripoff a mile away.
There's two monster hunters, an old classic muscle car, hunter funerals, the iconic trunk gun gathering scenes. There's an insideous organization who wants to destroy all monsters ( presidio vs British men of letters ). The similarities are too similar not to wonder if they took an unreleased season of supernatural scripts, gave them to a room full of monkeys, and filmed the outcome.
The characters are bland and unrealistic. You're supposed to suspend your disbelief that this 80 year old man is with a woman 20 years younger ( yet they went to school together ). They're of course an interracial couple because, well because, who the heck knows? It's clown world.... In this case though it hurts the story. It pollutes the plot in that you think the town is full of racists but it's not the case. They don't like her, not because she's black, but because she's caused problems in her teenage years and people went to jail because of it.
Their kids are all sorts of messed up and obnoxious. The girl is a recluse and the son is an over the top homosexual that is always trying to bed other teenagers. Why? It adds nothing to the story. They're of course mixed race teenagers but again this forced diversity hurts the whole storyline. You find out that the reason they don't fit in, is because they're warlocks ( yeah apparently they're born in clown world ) They're surrogates because mommy got hurt on a job and couldn't have kids, so not real humans, and not the hunters kids.
The first season is full of an endless barrage of social justice propaganda, and guy-on-guy lust scenes constantly smacking you in the face. You have to endure almost 60% of it before any of the writing even starts to resemble a cohesive plot. You have to suffer through multiple directors "vision" for the mess that is both on the screen and probably off of it. There's a new director for every episode. It's almost like Netflix didn't make the cast diverse enough so they had to bring in a bunch of directors... Apparently diversity makes us better. Well not in the case of this show.
In the end, this show is full of forgettable characters, a poorly driven narrative, and recycled storylines. It's nothing more than a show to push social propaganda.
