Worst Follett ever! Bad science (even for the time in question). Unbelievable characters. Unbelievable scenarios. Total lack of logic in every situation! Did Ken Follett actually write this book? I’ve read everything else he’s written, and I’m terribly disappointed.

Overall I have enjoyed the series very much. However, periodically the writers throw logic, common sense, and basic intelligence out the window! I was appalled during the third episode of season five that Claire would perform an unnecessary autopsy, without permission, on a corpse that would have been already reeking to high heaven. Then she reveals her work to Marsali ( who intellectually could not possibly process the situation) and basically asks her to be her protege!? If Claire wanted Marsali to learn the healing arts, logic would have it to first teach her about medicinal plants and their applications. Then advance to basic anatomy using the animals they slaughtered for food. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!
