Most of this movie is spend trying to recover from audience reactions to the previous one.
Rey's a nobody? Now she's a somebody!
Not enough rebels? Now there's too many!
Hated Rose? Who's Rose?
etc.
This movie has a lot of GOOD SCENES AND MOMENTS that make it feel very StarWars-ey but strung together it's an incoherent mess. When given the context of the previous two movies, it becomes laughable.
The pacing was fine.
