I loved the original when it came out and I was hesitant to watch this because of the reviews. I have no idea who any of these kids are, so I have no bias there… I have to say I was truly surprised at how much I liked this movie!!! It was your classic teenage glow up story, but I liked the modern twist with social media, the supporting actors were fun and snappy, there are some really fun nods to the original movie, and the leads were fine. She was fun and had a lot of screen presence, he was a little stiff, but he was totally fine and played cranky well. As someone who is on no social media and was really worried they were going to tank this… I really liked it a lot!!!

Good lord someone tell Nicole Kidman to stop with her lips. It’s so hard to take her seriously in an acting role when you see the uncomfortable and unnatural changes she’s done to her face. It makes it difficult to immerse yourself in the series. Her accent is so bad too… I read the book and loved it and it’s so hard to get going on this show.
