Star Trek discovery is badly written, directed, and and acted. The main character of Micheal Burnham is not just poorly written but badly acted by Martin Green. Casting overall is ok depending on the characters. However the main character is just bad, with very few redeeming qualities. The best season was season 2 which introduced some characters that would then be apart of strange new worlds. That season however was still such a mess, even in it's own continuity which was displayed so much so in the final episode. Season three is where it goes off a cliff. Forcing narratives that are openly only relevant to modern P.C. social issues. To which STAR TREK does not need to do. Issues like LGBTQ in star trek have been for the most part in it's narrative apart of good and great storytelling. This show however wishes to make it the story and complete plot point of the show. Star Trek does not need that. It's idea of the future has that incorporated already into it's self. The show wishes to highlight this, bringing in characters who's sole point is to be nothing but a LGBTQ narrative. While other modern Star Trek shows prove that like with 7 of 9, a lesbian character can have relationship problems without it being the emphasis of the episode or show. Incorporating a everyday social no problem take to the LGBTQ community. The camera work is horrible. Constant steady cam pan shots just look so bad. Horrible lighting and wasting sometimes minutes of an episode to show every character on the bridge just smiling at each other to put home the idea that they are a team like it's some avengers movie. Badly written, inconsistent stories, plot contrivances, and a season 2 final episode that makes no sense. Watch all the other modern Star Trek shows, even season 1&2 of Picard. For your safety and good management of your time. Avoid this show at all cost. You will gain nothing from watching this!
