The godawful individuals who worked for nixon, and and his wholly rotten and criminal behavior is brought into sharp focus in this accurate protrayal of the amoral and disgusting people who worked for his continued power. After the trump delusional presidency, GASLIT is a gag-producing, excellent film to remind the American public how thoroughly politicians of their right-wing ilk are sinister and determined to ignore Constitutional restraints. Sean Penn's performance as Mitchell is remarkable and Julia Roberts as Martha is amazing. I recommend this series to those of us who lived through it and especially those who were too young or not alive yet so that the abuse of power in the hands of nixon and his corrupt and criminal henchmen is better understood.

Because of sudden nasty health issues that have taken my mate out of the house I have some time on my hands and am trying to find flix to distract and amuse. I was curious because I do not know much about the real story, and know almost nothing about Lady Gaga or Adam Driver. I think this movie lost focus, was overly long and w/the exception of Al Pacino's most of the acting was quite amateur, and uninvolving so the movie really dragged by. I should maybe be looking for things listed as comedy but this filled the time by being unintentionally hilarious because of bad accents, disconnected scenes and people looking as if they had tumbled into improvised acting classes. Generally I'd say skip it and find something more unusual. It seems like a very hackneyed knock-off.
