I was amazed how entertaining it was and how much I learened even as a retired PhD scientist. Until the fourth episode - Genesis. There were so many huge (really huge) gaps without the sightest acknowkedgements. For instance they mentioned how an organic molecule was synthesized in a laboratory from the basic building blocks and energy. Yes, this was urea - an extremely simple molecule. From there they magically jumped to DNA, an extremely complex molecule with a very complex function involving a well functioning cell and multiple systems to translate the information to functional protein. Extreme jump but they spoke not a word as though time and chance would take care of it. They mentioned membranes, and implied that containing organic molecules within the membrane was BOOM a cell. That is mind blowing in its oversimplicity. I dont think in a hour and with the intent of the program they could expand on the details, but they could have acknowledged the immense gaps that our best science can not explain.
