Just watched all 4 eps back to back. It's an excellent documentary, but not an easy watch in parts. The grief is raw and all-consuming at times. But also beautiful in a way as feelings that profound can surely only come as a result of a love that is equally as strong. I cried with Ed as he tries to navigate the loss of his incredibly talented friend Jamal Edwards, and when lovely Cherry is reflecting on the battle she has been through too.
While I’m not an avid fan of Ed’s music I do recognise his immense talent as a musician, and I’ve always liked how he comes across. He seems genuine, cheeky in a good way, and loving - like someone who you could have a pint with and laugh with through the night putting the world to rights. Cherry feels the same. I hope that 2023 bring this family lots of laughter and light, as well as the moments of quiet needed for Ed to rebuild. I wish them all the very best for the future.
