Entertaining at times and I definitely didn't hate it, but it felt like a filler book. I gave it 4 stars because of the picture we get of dragon society, the character development of what were considered minor characters in book 1 and also the ending. At points Xaden and Violets relationship was extremely toxic, predictable and it was the same fight over and over, it was hard to read. This book felt similar to The Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah. J. Maas and the War of two queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout, readable and even enjoyable at points but not something I will come back to anytime soon.
