So in any other part of the world I can see the message behind this movie. Respect your elders and ancestors and their link to your history. However, I am an American. I was raised by our boomers. This movie hits different from that perspective. At least for me. It's a warning from a generation that was too busy gathering everything they felt and still feel they were entitled to while ignoring, or flat out abusing the generations that followed. Generations that they can not believe has no interest in taking care of them or does not have the means to do so. While still feeling it is their right to be waited on hand and foot. A warning that if we do not meet their expectations then they can and will exact retribution. All the while ignoring the fact that they also abandoned their own parents with no hesitation or regret.
I understand that this is a generalization of America, and that there are specific examples that do not fit this scope. This is my personal experience, as well as the experience of many others.
That being said. The movie itself was a mediocre take on the zombie trope. 4/10
