I enjoyed this show. I thought the chemistry between Hugh’s and Coleman was very good and the set design and costuming was very well done. I know you cannot trust a show like this on historical accuracy but I think the way the showed Queen Victoria on the Irish Potato Famine was an absolute DISGRACE. To make it seem like she was an advocate for Irish rights, or the right not to be forcibly starved to death, is insulting towards Irish people who know that is was indeed Queen Victoria who BANNED food and donations being imported into Ireland and kept on exporting the Irish food while they starved. You really missed the mark on that one and should be ashamed of it.

the glazing is CRAZY in these positive reviews. I am a huge HUGE fan of the books and I am so so disappointed from this show, ESPECIALLY the lotus episode, I was initially very excited for walker and leah’s performance but their chemistry feels so forced if there at all, grover is excellent, exactly how I imagined him. They are very bad at pacing and the whole thing seems very rushed, i’m so disappointed I feel like i’m watching a blank screen, nothing is jumping out at me like it did in the books, this is particularly evident in the lotus scene, they enter and immediately know somethings up?? they are supposed to be ENTRANCED it takes away all the tension and suspense the whole episode was a huge utter disappointment I went in with such a positive outlook but I really hate the show to the point where i would say the MOVIES are better.. Why was Gabe not thst unlikeable?? Why is Chiron in a horse suit?? why are all the villains SO underwhelming I could go on for days.
