It's a nice book if one wants to see IR keeping the focus on Europe during the cold war to the exclusion of other continents. Interestingly the US' s own political history has been discussed in a very limited way, despite being ' the original anti USSR polity in the cold war'. But despite some flaws this book will come in good use for those appearing in entrance exams for IR where knowing international history is key to passing the test.
