I tried several times to get into this show but just couldn't. I suppose it's just me but I find it boring watching a bunch of people being annoying and self centered. I suppose it would be impressive if I wanted to watch a bunch of chain smokers drinking and fooling around in the 60's. The characters are shallow and uninteresting. However the acting is pretty good really. I just found myself distracted most of the time. It's true to the time period which is something I suppose. I couldn't get past the first 6 episodes even though I tried off and on for a few years.Men were sure jackasses in the 60's lol. Two stars only because the acting is good.

So well written and presented. This show runs with so many emotions. It is ugly, beautiful, sad, happy and so very dark and compelling. I can easily watch it over and over again. Gervais is definitely in his element with this. I can't wait for season 3. It's deep and it's shallow and can make you happy and sad in the blink of an eye.

Preposterous storyline, weak acting and a lot of unintentional laughs. At least it was entertaining in it's silliness. I found myself easily distracted to do other things while watching this. I got my laundry folded and paid my bills and did a puzzle while this was on. If you want something to watch that you can easily walk away from and still know what's going on this is okay I guess. They sure made the authorities look like the biggest bunch of morons in the world. It had a few good moments but not many.
