What a terrible message to send to young fans. Disney supports relationships above all else (plot, character development, thematic continuity, etc.), but only if it's between two white people and it's heteronormative. It's so willing to put money before everything else that it forces the main character into a relationship with an abusive fascist. Further, it informs viewers that the only important role a woman can play, even when she is the protagonist of a billion-dollar film empire, is caretaker and redeemer to a worthless,abusive, rapist fascist who did nothing to deserve redemption and actively chose to commit genocide and mass murders again and again. It sidelines its characters of color and destroys their characterizations, and it throws the female roles into the trash. What an abysmal excuse for a movie. I'd give it negative stars if I could. Absolutely disgusting.
