If you look at the genre, you may read that this drama is categorized as historical fantasy romance drama. But, when you continuously watch the episodes, you'll find that this drama has a little portion of romance, at least typical romance people prefer nowadays. The romance in this drama is subtle yet beautifully strong. There's no much skinship, kissing scenes or lovey-dovey between the main couple, but you can just feel how strong their chemistry is. Ahn Hyoseop, the hero, hit so differently when he's portraying Ha Ram in this drama. He is like portraying 3 characters: Ha Ram himself (who is calm, mature and friendly), Ilwolseong (who is stern, cold and whose aim is to revenge on royal families), and as ma wang the demon king (who is evil and scary). Meanwhile, the heroine, Hon Chun Gi, portrayed perfectly by Kim Yoojung. With her alluring beauty and amazing painting skills, she just perfectly portray the role of Hon Chun Gi. Ahn Hyoseop and Kim Yoojung are successfully build beautiful and powerful chemistry that you can feel only by seeing their picture together standing side by side. Thus make the drama is so interesting to watch.
