THE GOAT. Best RPG (of all time IMO) in 2020 (and its game from 2016!). It caters to all tactical cravings, the level of detail is insane - so much individual unit variety. For example, you like Elven mages? Great, we have fire, protection, arch mages list goes on each mage has unique abilities and spells, each spell has levels I to III along with individual animations, from melting enemy Armour to raining shards of ice onto rushing hordes of chaos warriors. There are giant troops, there a Dragons, of each elemental node with unique abilities, repeater bolt throwers used by the dark elves that slice through ranks like butter . Rain acid fire onto hordes of undead from black dragons, raise dead as a vampiric necromancer. Personally, nothing beats watching elite units of Elven archers raining arrow storms onto enemy armies, destroying morale and crushing ranks before they even reach melee. And that's just battles, you add campaign macro economics, unit development, building development, diplomacy (way important), hero actions its INSANE. Best strategy game out there, wasted money on other titles you will not waste anything other than your time on this puppy. METACRITIC gave it a score of 87 in 2017 - I give METACRITIC a 0, and rate this game a 96 in 2020 (and I've played nearly 90 percent of Totalwar titles since the franchise began - this is the best by far!!!) And one last important point, this game is FUN. Yes, unlike other games that try too hard, this game is just really fun, in so many ways it's designed to create a good gaming experience, one example is you can speed up and skip campaign tasks to get to the juicy bits!!! Plus there is a lot of subtle lore, awesome artwork and gorgeous cut scenes. If your a fantasy nerd like me you will GEEK OUT!
