I would rate this book a 0/10 because it completely fails to respect religion and faith. It paints Christianity in a negative way and repeatedly shows God and Christ in a bad light, which feels blasphemous and offensive. Beyond that, the story itself is dull and frustrating — instead of drawing me in, it made me wish I didn’t have to read it at all. The writing feels heavy-handed, and the way it twists religion into something negative ruins any chance of enjoying the bigger themes. Honestly, I think my teacher could have chosen a much better book that explores faith, hope, or humanity without tearing down Christianity in the process.
