Richard Osman is a hugely likeable chap and an appealing humour on Pointless so I definitely wanted to read his first book.
I bought it over the Christmas holidays and it was an easy go to on a grey day! If you need to get back into reading fiction through a light book I’d recommend this. It has more chapters than I’ve ever seen in 377 pages but it’ll suit many people in our age of picking up Twitter to read or scanning other social media for a while. It’s nicely put together with a good flow. The writing is polite, convivial and reassuring. The plot hangs well together with a little twist. There’s one part I need to reread: why did Penny kill x? So that is a sign of a good book, it can be reread.
Hats off to RO. I don’t think I could write a novel and writing the first one or two must be exhausting. Thumbs up, great guy, I’m looking forward to your next book.
