Not knowing anything about this movie previous to watching, I must say it was not what I expected. Which was a movie about the discovery of the continent. That being said I thoroughly enjoy it. And felt that it was the most realistic depiction of what life in the West during 1870 must of been like.
Beyond the story is the poinyaint part of the comparison to America and Americans 150 years later. And how the landscape is the only thing that has changed in all that time.
The two VERY bright spots in this movie are the phenomenal acting of the young lady. Far more than her years. And of course Tom Hanks, the Henry Fonda of our time.
