Barbie is a magnificent movie, by which I mean a movie that is deeply humanistic, one that shows us that human beings, with all of our flaws, are not inherently violent and dishonest.This is encapsulated when Barbie explains why she has decided to become a human. She says, "I want to make meaning."

Nope depicts the continuum between the torture and abuse of animals and the torture and abuse of human beings as in slavery. Horrible to say, even today black people are still spoken of pejoratively as animals. And still today animals are horribly mistreated. Nope is a masterful depiction of this theme, and much more.
