This is the pinnacle of cinematic brilliance. A simple, everyday, story and setting, taken to an unrealistically real level by the cast, their direction, the cinematography and the screenplay in tow.
Though it would be natural to attribute it to AB for carrying the movie (and in this role, doubly so) I am overawed by Ayushmann Khurrana and the rest of the cast rising to the standard set by AB and elevating the collective performance to a flawless high.
Kudos to Shoojit for weaving together the antiquity of the setting, the peculiar nuances of the dialect and the quirks of the local lifestyle in such a delectable show of film-making. Normally, we ponder the art and effort involved in distilling a 30 second ad spot out of a 30 minute story line. Gulabo Sitabo is the case of a 30 second storyline being taken to a 2 hour narrative with the precision and creativity one would see in a synopsis.
A relatively limited exposure permitted by an online release hardly does justice to such creative brilliance. Someday, this movie will rank right up there, with the greats, as an icon of stellar story-telling. *Respect* and a hats-off to the entire crew. KEEP IT UP!!!
