In my soul this movie gets a 5/5 simply because of the feelings it gave me as a child that have echoed out into my adulthood. Re-watching it now I'm still invested and excited by it, despite what it may be lacking in continuity and cohesive overarching plot. The animation has always been beautiful to me - especially in the night time segment at the beginning and the battle sequence against Diablomon.

I think people are too harsh on this movie. Maybe it's just too niche to appeal to a wide audience? I would say that if you're an art fan and don't mind horror or silliness in your movies give it a try! It's definitely something you've never seen before.
