I don't think one should actually deem this film to be a "comedy"...perhaps a "dark comedy, a very very dark comedy"? While the actors are pretty
much flawless IMHO, the only one I could find reasons to "like" was the
brilliantly played "Matt" (Patton), who tries, with little success,
to enlighten Mavis (also brilliantly played by the ever incredible Theron)
that she is treading in deep water and about to
have a rude awakening! At the end of the film however, I had to
agree with the wise opinion of Matt's sister, "Sarah", who advises
Mavis, (who feels everyone in town has found happiness save for her),
to: "F...K Mercury"! In retrospect, that might also be considered wise
advise for anyone considering viewing this film.
