T Carpenter – Google

This is a haunting drama. Even though I do not speak Itlaian,nor had heard of the books prior to binge watching the Dvd tapes from the library, this series is captivating, sad,and unfortunately, it depicts a truth-or rather the harsh truth or poverty, male machismo cultures, female angst from submission to men who are selfish and cruel at heart, how knowledge is power and intelligence is a threatening commodity to bullies. It also shows the unfortunate hardness that a young girl develops from abusive father and brother, weak mother and her friends abuse from a jealous mother and a world that caters to males and the more wealthy and affluent. Poverty and archaic traditions that stifle intellectual growth and financial empowerment. The setting is like an old grey town with tired colors and even more tired,gossiping, angry people. Makes me never want to visit Italy,nor date an Italian man!!

Season 17 is off to a hot bang! What a great panel of FOUR mostly likeable judges with their own awesome talents! The first night of auditions-wow! It seems the talent may be getting better and better every year,setting the bar so high! I only hope that we don't have to see too much of Blake and Gwens boyfriend/girlfriend stuff because that will get old fast AND detract from the contestants. Kelly should tone it down her remarks against Blake,it's gonna get annoying like Adam's and Blake's put downs to each other. John is really a gentlemen and has most class of all! See why he has gotten top awards in so many areas of entertainment!

Overall I like the show, but,Eve is annoying, she reminds me of a self absorbed sorority girl who thinks she is better than everyone else. As far as daytime shows go,I'd rate the show a 'B' cause I don't like soap operas nor game shows so,it's already ahead of those shows! At least the ladies are more considerate of one another, unlike 'The View'--which is ruined by the daughters of politicians whose only claim to fame is daddy. The show will be lacking when Sara Gilbert leaves because she is intelligent and seems more mature and logical then most people who are in the Hollywood/TV worlds.

I like many topics they do, HOWEVER, Meghan McCain needs to STOP her constant name dropping about her late father. She acts like a spoiled brat with a sense of entitlement that is annoying and in need of professional attention. She's a grown woman and she continues to try and get attention from a family member's death. I buried my son when I was 30,and later my Dad then Mom. We all eventually lose someone,but,we don't need to remind the world on TV every day! She is quite Sad choice for the show. Surely there are ladies with more decorum and class who could be part of the show INSTEAD of her. Why doesn't the show have a lady (or one for certain amt.of weeks and then rotate)who represents an average American who is not from political connection nor Hollywood nor a professional entertainer? That would be a lot more interesting. Egos on the show are getting too much.

I actually dislike the main two characters Phil & Carol,I think Phil's character is more annoying and stupid then funny. The rest of the cast is fairly good,I don't know why they left that Jasper kid when they picked up and left the Mexico mansion in Season Four,that seemed pretty bad to me. The robot dog that Phil made was nauseating and in poor taste. This show could be much better if they got BETTER writers and didn't have nitwit lead characters Phil and Carol. The stupid hair cuts Phil's brother does is simply childish and not funny. Also,Phil just looks like a slob with gross unkempt hair and beard. I binge watched this series from movie DVD 's from library since I don't have cable and all that--so I really could see where there was lack of talent in lot of the writing. The other characters are more interesting and less idiotic then Phil and Carol. They are the only reason to continue watching because they do a good job acting even with poor writers. This could really have been top-notch show because the premise is interesting and plausible. 😣

Have binge watched from library & simply cannot like character of Nick,cause I just cannot stand addicts/alcoholics/potheads--they never ever change--and cannot stand hair always dirty. But, the shows okay, except leading character,Madison, isn't as likeable as Rick Grimes character on The Walking Dead--and makes it harder to root for that family cause all the codependcy in the Nick circle of addiction/manipulation. They should have characters that are just better humanitarians at heart-instead of manipulators.

Without Rick Grimes,season 9 isn't very good,like Grey's Anatomy without Meredith Grey! Also, season 9 flips back and forth with time sequences and it doesn't do it smoothly, seems very poorly written. (MAYBE key writer(s)left also??). The only good character is Judith Grimes--only when she is really being a chip off the old block (Rick). Season 9 is pretty disappointing, the new nutheads-leader 'Alpha ' woman acts like an angry lesbian --on crack. I don't know why the writers even bother with that southern accent except to suggest a white supremacist wackjob. Disappointing season,watched on video since don't have cable and don't pick those channels up on tv antenna--liked binge watching the show (library card!!)--but, I Don't think season 10 Will be good unless Rick Crimes character comes back for good. 😣
