I was left in tears with the last scene. The love that the emperor had for the empress was beyond words. Also, for the empress to be loved deeply by both her beloveds and then left alone to battle her remaining life on earth… We should never miss a chance to let our loved ones know how much we love them when they are around us. I may have had more expectations from this drama. As the story started unfolding, I had hopes that it would have ended up with the Emperor (the actor Ji Chang Wook, whose work such as Healer, The K2, Suspicious Partner, I have watched and admired his acting skills) living a happy life with the Empress whom he doted so much. I would have loved to see an alternate ending to this story where in the Emperor would recover from the poison and the rebels wouldn’t have attacked and defeated Taltal. He would have lived a life filled with the love of the Empress and enjoyed his rule over the Yuan dynasty.
