Ragnarok is well worth the watch if you are at all interested in the most accurate depiction of Norse mythology. Told by the people who know more about it than anyone else, this is not Americanized or have the polish of Hollywood effects or acting and therefore quite some unfair reviews.
The first thing that the majority of people believe is that Ragnarok is the equivalent to the apocalypse but Ragnarok is the beginning...
It's pacing is mostly perfect as it's season is only 6 episodes in length, the actors are well picked and do a great job and develop quite well by season's end. However it's biggest and seemingly only real flaw is detachment of its story with a recurring inconsistency.
Elaborating further from episode 1, Obviously Vidur knows there's possibly something special about Magnè and seems to suspect an otherworldly nature but it's not explained or explored other than an irrational order to keep an eye on him...
In the second episode his only friend is in an accident which unfortunately doesn't end well but is witnessed by Magnè yet even he is detached from what he saw as though he never saw it and throughout the season he follows other leads yet he saw exactly what happened and who was there.
Though annoying as it is to see these inconsistency holes and detachment to the events , Ragnarok is well worth the watch and I look forward to seeing more.
