This is the most incredible modern book I have ever read. I typically try to stay away from YA novels, because I find that they are either riddled with cliches or the writing style lacks a certain sophistication that I only find in classics, but this novel was recommended by a friend of mine and I decided to read it. And I am so glad that I did. This book is beautifully written and left me in happy tears, which is something that only a handful of books have done. The title clearly suggests that it is a love story between two people, but I found that it is so much more than that. It is a story about loving life because each and every day is precious. It is a story about loving your family, because they are all we have. It is a story about loving your circumstances, no matter how cruel they may seem. This story will definitely have a special place in my heart, not only because of the wonderful characters, but also for the beautiful writing and spectacular ending that fully exceeded my expectations. In short, this book is "as special as special can be."
