Peter Dinklage is superb. Since he’s such a wonderful actor I underestimated his singing and sword fighting chops The physicality of the role allow him to shine. The visuals simultaneously possess both realistic grit and a magical dreamlike quality. They seem to manifest Cyrano’s practical life view along with his lifelong love of Roxanne. Costumes and choreography crown this amazing production. The scene/song of the soldiers writing their goodbyes captured the melancholy of their likely deaths.

So freaking nuts because it’s so realistic. No supernatural monsters - just the monsters among us. Fits the zeitgeist of the century so far. Not for the faint of heart.
