This was a good movie. Unlike popular belief this movie was quality content.
Spoilers: The storyline was compelling, fun, and full. We had two amazing villain portrayed by two incredible actors, with believable narratives.
We had a relatable and human side of wonder women shown. The pain of the immortal watching everyone she cares about die, only to find love, and lose it over and over again. To face that and still see the beauty in the world is incredible, especially with Gal Gadot really selling that pain of losing Steve once again.
The fight scenes were like elegant dances, the movement of bodies the way marital type fighting really flows. Well choreographed and rendered.
We got a the invisible jet, which always seemed like a more cheesy item, felt cool in this movie.
We got to see the 80s in all its colorful glory.
Cheetah actually looked like cheetah, a much better rendering than that seen in the movie cats.
The theme of hope and working together is such a warm spot in the blight of what has been 2020.
Yes this move is a little predictable but that does not mean it is bad. The story still is real, and has real emotions behind it. It’s complex and simple at the same time, like a good pasta dish. Yeah you may have guessed how it ends or that Steve dies. But your lying if the scene where they say goodbye to each other and all the physical outside pain and scars she has becomes inward, didn’t touch you.
I only have one minor complaint for this movie. I wish the scenes where she was learning to fly was worked with more in cgi and after affects. It could have been better.
Also, it was nice for once a super hero movie didn’t follow the pattern of find a really evil guy, beat them up and kill or buy them in jail and never see them again. The villains in these stories weren’t always bad people, they just had bad moments.
