This isn't a movie in the traditional sense but is rather an artistic view on the lives of Carthusian Monks and the quiet contemplative religious activities. There are few spoken lines of dialogue, no narration. There is a version with English subtitles so if you don't know French or German i highly recommend getting it. God speaks through the silence. The Monks do chant in Latin. If you are familiar with this then some of the singing is followable.

I dont hate strong female leads. With that being said this movie is packed to the gills with feminism and woman worshipping you can smell its stench from orbit.

Decent is a good word describing this. Certainly well shot and well acted. Captures the culture of the people that are portrayed living in California. That is not a high point im just pointing it out. Some of the sound track is out of place at times. close to the end where he calls the doctor...*SPOILER ALERT* they play Morning from Peer Grynt. I felt this was tacky and out of place. The sun rising and him looking into the dawn was more than enough to set the mood. I also felt that many things were left unresolved. His romantic interest betrays him at her comedy club and their make up is"im fu#$in dyin..." then they have sex. The arc with his ex wife was....felt rushed... and he didn't exactly make up with his daughter in a way that i felt was...satisfying. The ending just felt rushed. Id rate this like ....6-7/10 but im not a professional critic. Its ok. Not bad, not great....somewhere in the middle.

This Catechism is excellent for those of us who want to know more about the Summa Theologica without spending tons of money or using ridiculous amounts of shelf space.

This man is not Christian. He doesent care about God, America, or organized society. He is greedy, self centred, and above all else only cares for his profits.

The new one is literally low energy trash compared to this.

This is a very interesting look at a young Mark Collett. He made mistakes and grew from them.
