The movie was great, the portrayal or Livia was wonderful, focusing how she felt about mental health medication and ultimate saw it as weakness, also shows´very few moments where she wants to be a good mother to Tony, also you can see the drama of Livia and her husband, and she looks VERY similar to Carmella. Dickie is basically a thinner and better dressed Tony, there are moments when Dickie is eating in his underwear that you can see Tony, there are scenes where you can se same mannerism of Dickie Moltisanti and adult Tony Soprano, even that smile, also that filtratious nature both share. Tony was brought up to be as Dickie, there are moments where even Johnny Boy doesn't get Tony or why he is so impulsive so the real influence on Tony is Dickie. And then there is Junior, you can see how everything makes much more sense as how Junior is and how he reacts, how he was always teased leading to the result of the older Junior and how he is, the pure jealousy of Junior towards everyone and everything, and also Junior´s reaction to the oral sex thing on The Sopranos make much more sense. For me the movie was great, it is not a Tony Soprano movie. It is a movie that explains and dwells again on the psychological aspect of both Tony and Dickie, how both feel they have to "atone" their sins. Fun fact, I never saw any drug problem that supposedly Dickie Moltisanti had, something that is brought up A LOT in The Sopranos, so maybe it was something that was found at the end. Wont say it so I dont spoil things, but on that part, you can even see young Tony knowing that his mother needs medication of some kind. Great movie, but it needs more prequels or maybe a limited 10 episode story. And also Silvio Dante, was great.
