It wasn't great. The characters weren't engaging and the dialogue felt awkward like it was written by chatgpt. It's more tell than show. A true example of the dumbing down of television. Although red herrings are an integral part of the genre it felt like there were a lot poorly written 'red herrings' and inconsistencies used to embellish the series without adding any substance to the story. It got to the point that I only kept watching it with the hope that the ending would justify it all but if it were truly good every episode would have shone in its own right. I can't help but feel that they exploited the reddit detective community element to do some virtual marketing for them. It was fuelled by a gimmick rather than writing a genuinely solid story. At least it was visually stunning but unfortunately it was so boring that I couldn't sit through it again. It's a genre that I usually really enjoy. Next time I'd rather just watch a few episodes of Vera for my murder mystery fix.

Totally unexpected. I started watching this show expecting some light fantasy to watch mindlessly but instead I found myself watching an absolute gem returning every week for the next episode. It might be advertised as an absurdist, sci-fi comedy but it's so much more. It will touch you in unexpected ways. The characters are well crafted and the chemistry between the leads kept me invested in them. It stays light and fun with plenty of action and elements of intrigue before hitting you right in the feels. Awards should be given for the the writing, directing and acting in this series. Particularly Betty's performance in Ep 8. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. Spoiler: The reviewer who couldn't support a show with the exploding horse - if you would watch the whole series you won't feel so upset about it.
