We watched it in Mr. Downer’s classroom at Athens High School last week as part of the Holes Writing Project for Linguistics & Composition. I love the old Walt Disney Logo animation with my vintage colors!!!!! His name is backward from his first name “Stanley” which is hilarious!!!!! Hahaha!!!!!!!!!! The music perfectly fits the theme of the movie!!! I can’t believe there are so many holes in Camp Green Lake!!!!!!!!!! It took the excerpt from Holes by Louis Sachar on Unit 1 in Language Live! and its updated communication and revealed the counselor's name. It’s unbelievable to see how big the punishment is by Mr. Sir is to dig one hole each day and Stanley Yelnats has to dig 1,000,001 holes at Camp Green Lake!!!!! Mom’s letter said "I feel sorry for the little old lady who lived in the shoe ‘cause it must have smelled really bad” which is funny. Interestingly, there’s a contradictory behavior, and the tunnel is formed when digging holes!!! Katherine’s school is destroyed because of racism, which is very intense!!!!! I will never forget Katherine’s school. It feels like it’s in the time machine to see how Kissin Kate Barlow acted back in the day. Everybody wants Kissin’ Late Barlow which is so intense!!! Stanley stole and drove Mr. Sir’s which is super hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stanley splashes water to Zero to wake up which is very funny. It’s very rare to see Zero and Stanley find the treasure chest, and there’s his name “Stanley Yelnats!!!!!!!!!!” When he finally got home, his family opened Stanley’s treasure chest, and there were a lot of treasures inside which was unbelievable!!!!!!!! I love that it’s a vintage movie!!!!! Highly recommend watching it, and it’s very useful to compare to an excerpt from the book by Louis Sachar in Language Live! if you’re a teacher at school!!!!!
