Boring and Lifeless The best part of this game is all the visuals. But that's really all it has going for it. Villagers seem to be watered down from the last game, which makes it really hard to want to talk or interact with them when they have only two different phrases. I strongly dislike it when games restrict parts of the features with updates, so you don't even get the full game yet, you have to wait for it. As a game that promotes customization and personalization, I feel restricted more than anything in my desired way to play. I don't need Nintendo to hold my hand through everything. Just starting up on this island is frustrating and convoluted. The diy recipes are an interesting and creative feature, but breaking tools makes no sense and it's really annoying. It seems like this game is just a big time sink. You have rng to erase any kind of fun you may have, so it's unlikely you'll get the fish, bugs, clothes, Villagers or furniture you want if you don't either cheat or time travel. I just think that looking at what the past versions of this game did well and implementing it into this one would benefit it, because right now it feels really watered down and dispassionate. It's unfortunate because I really wanted to enjoy this game, but now it'll just collect dust on my shelf.
