The acting kept me engaged...Stanley Tucci and Ralph Fiennes are commendable actors. The pace was, unfortunately sluggish. The cinematography, however lovely. Sadly, the finale or "point the movie shoved down the audience's throat" was laughably unlikely. So contrived and manufactured and worse, lessened many of the thought-provoking ideas that were raised in the film.

For those who felt the movie too long I say, really? I guess that WWII was too long, as well. Sad to think we are so busy with our Instagram and Snapchat that the extra 15 minutes may have kept us away from learning about real life, real struggles, real problems, and somewhat effective teaching of history's real heroes. It is a wonderful film for its genre. I enjoyed learning the deeper facts of this pivotal moment during the Pacific campaign, and once again was reminded just how many people I have to thank for the life they gave so I could have mine. This film should be seen by every young person so they too can have a small glimpse of those we owe a debt of gratitude to. Go see the film. Very worthwhile.
