Since buying and reading the book in 2014, I have not seen another book quite like Parabolis by Eddie Han. How to even describe it? Everything about it seems to be displaced from out of this world. Reading it is as-if I have been taken to a different world and a different time, with its own nuances and customs and sagas and struggles. Like reading a rogue's adventure set amid the tumultuous rise of nationalism in the 20th Century, with all the intrigues of secret societies, conspiracies, great powers, and the underworld.
I still look forward to a sequel...if a sequel occur!
