Definitely better than most thriller/horror movies I've seen this year, actually it's in my top 3 for 2018-2019. Just enjoy it. There are many things unanswered, and I like it that way. People complain so much about not knowing what's directly happening (probably because they want instant gratification), but it would honestly ruin the movie if there was a direct answer to the conflict. It's like all horror movies with monsters aren't scary anymore because they and their weaknesses get heavily exposed, ruining the chance to enjoy re-watching the movie. Even though the monster isn't directly exposed in Bird Box, I unfortunately don't think Bird Box is as enjoyable as the first viewing because you already know the several important outcomes that occur in the movie, and that's a majority of thrillers/horrors IMO.
