The original movies were awesome. They had amazing bad special effects, but amazing directing and acting. The lines fit in with every scene, and you could feel the emotion, it was very relatable when HB was jealous of the detective and snuck out tko spy on Liz and him. This version has good special effects, and the actors/actresses definitely fit their role, but the rest lacked promise. There was not a big enough pause between most lines, so the movie felt sped up, and most lines were corny or even just plain bad. The plot was good, but at the same time, unoriginal because we've seen it in sooo many movies. *Society's outcast(the MC) is tempted by their desire to feel like a hero, appreciated, and the side that knows what he has to do for the greater good. But they have to overcome it in order to save the world* This type of character arc is very common, and often overused. It also sucks that Liz Isn't in it, but times change. In all seriousness, it is a good movie, but would've been better left to Guillermo Del toro to write, and direct.
