The books has in it the two significant symbolic references, one to kafka's bitter relationship to his father and second to Oedipus who slept with his mother and killed his own father. Kafka tamura in the novel is a Kafkaesque protagonist who abandons home to avert the prophecies but he fails to party this tragedy as he finally sleeps with his mother, miss saeki and his sister, sakura. The novel traces the catastrophic riddles of life which deny unravel like kafka does everything to not materialize the prophecies but he is trapped in circumstances where he unconsciously materializes them. The another thread of the novel is Nataka, who lost his memory. But after the loss, he seems to be blessed by special powers of communicating to cats. His description signifies that new things are achieved at the cost of previous things.
Whole novel is about the unresolved issues of life in which things don't work as per our plans but by the circumstances.
