A woman's thoughts: If Brad was Alien's Ripley, instead of Tarantino's "Brad" I would have liked it alot more.. He was a bit of a doorknob. The ending? cliche and meaningless. Brads voice had no emotion. His flat and catatonic performance ruining whatever meaning we could have gleaned from our own minds from the images. And how'd he get home so fast?? I mean what was that? Where was the sleep for a billion miles pod? But I loved the art direction, sets, VFX, editing and sound design... good SCI-FI, wrong movie star.

Its a beautiful moving film. Told in the only way a womens film can be told. Men don't get it. Some critics say its incoherent. Its not. Far from it. Its cut on emotional beats.. cutting across time and memory in on of the finest edits ive seen on film. Beautifully shot as well. I thought it was sublime and brilliant.

I would love to know more about the editing. I think its such a pity you didnt discuss that process as well as the cinematography as you had a really great editor (Tracy Granger) w/ tons more experience than Daniel Landin. You also don't mention Jaqui Davies, Ray & Liz's sole producer. It wasn't only men who made this film. So I think the article is a bit one sided.
