I am really enjoying my time with The Outer Worlds. I almost never write reviews unless I love the game so much or I absolutely hate it. In this case, it is nothing but love.
My first big plus with the game is the overall tone. Right off the bat, you get the sense this will be a comical journey. I enjoy the humor, but I was also surprised at how serious it got. And it wasn't like it hit me in the face, I knew it was coming.
Characters are colorful, unique, and interesting. I don't like games where it is boring to talk to named characters. So far (I am just now leaving the first planet), I am liking everyone I have talked to. Parvarti is adorable and I absolutely love ADA.
Combat is nice. I'm playing on Normal and it gives an interesting challenge, being able to customize weapons to your satisfaction to make your best hold out of weapons is fun. I like the use of companions special abilities, saved my bacon more than a few times. I also like how you can tailor your companions to fit your playstyle. I like stealth so I always had Parvarti stay back and defend should I ever get seen.
Overall, I love this game. It is by far not perfect, but I imagine it's nothing an update won't fix. I hope they expand it more in the future.
