Hello Readers!
You're looking for a book to read? Well, try to read this book then if you haven't read this book! 'The Hobbit or There and Back Again.'
In my opinion, from the bottom of my heart, I have to say that this book deserves the title of being one of the best books of all time.
First of all, it teaches you a lot of lessons, even though it is shown in an indirect way, such as Loyalty, Courage, Curiosity, Confidence, and many more!
For example, we can see loyalty from how Bilbo still treats the dwarves as if they are his closest friends, even though they have been treating him unkindly, such as underestimating him.
So it's not only about the content, it's about the lessons, and how you can apply them in life, and this book is perfect to be a guide for you to do so.
The storyline is very interesting, even though it is a bit confusing, but I think it is pretty straightforward already, especially when you have watched the three movies!
Let me give you a summary of it:
Bilbo Baggins was a hobbit that hates going on adventures. But on one very fine day, Gandalf, a wizard, approaches him and invites him on an adventure with 13 Dwarves. Then, on the next day, the 13 Dwarves; Dwalin, Balin, Fili, Kili, Ori, Nori, Dori, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Oin, Gloin, and Thorin "wrecked" his house and ate most of his food. The Dwarves then sing silly songs and danced, while Bilbo was very unhappy. Then, the Dwarves sang their song, about a kingdom that was once prosperous, but was then desolated by a Dragon named Smaug. Bilbo then felt his adventurous side rising up, and he wanted to go on the adventure. They also discussed about the plans for the adventure. On the very next day, Bilbo Baggins was waited by the Dwarves, and so he the adventure begins. The group then must face lots of dangers and evenmore dangerous, the Dragon himself. Bilbo was afraid to face these dangers, but something unexpected happened to him and he was not the same kind of hobbit as before.
Finally, as a thirteen year old student, I would like to really thank Tolkien for making this book and the editors and revisors who helped to make the book a bit more understandable (even though I think that the original book is probably already pretty understandable)!! I am very glad that I can have the opportunity to read this book and have a chance to enjoy it! I am also thankful that this book cured my heart a lot of times and that it helped me to be a little more happy ๐.
I would really like to give more than five stars to this book, but I can't, because I only can give five stars maximum, but it's okay, this still shows that the book is great and I love it a lot!
