It makes sense that this was Hemmingway's last major work of fiction. The same doubts that come with middle age are readily apparent within the body of this work...but so is the personal courage, hence the battle with the fish.

As a lifelong kaiju movie fan I watched this movie from a defensive posture for the first 30 minutes...but then I was hooked. Maximum monster, minimum human story, a good recipe for any good theme related film. This one delivers about 80% of the time. That is a WIN.
