Freddie Highmore plays the autistic Dr Shaun Murphy in a very convincing way. He is totally focused on getting the best outcome for his patients but does not understand sensitive communication. This is typical of Asperger's Syndrome or High Functioning autism, which Shaun has. It is sad that some people he meets in the series are prejudiced and don't want him around them because they think he is weird or different. Generally people do not like his direct approach but gradually accept him and try to help him in social skills. As well as the brilliant acting of Freddie Highmore, I also enjoy the medical side and the interactions of the other doctors with the patients and their personal relationships.
