For whatever reason, I have become hyperfixated with this film. I've read the negative reviews. I understand that I, as an adult, should not be so emotionally attached to a film geared towards 6 year olds.
I cannot point out what it is specifically about Dog man that I love so much, but it is one of the only films I have watched everyday for a week and a half straight.
This movie is outrageous and loud in its humor, story, and action, but there are subtle and introspective inticracies littered about. The characters' expressions and the voice acting in this film are wonderfully immersive and you get a strong feel of who these characters are in a relatively short time.
What fully brings this film together is the art and soundtrack. The animation has that stop motion lag to it and the backgrounds are beautiful and tranquil, an almost stunning contrast to the film's quick pace. The music sets the tone wonderfully and gives the movie such a bright and fun energy.
Dog man for many people may seem like a simple children's to watch and nod off to, but it has been an unforgettable and heartwarming experience for me. I thank everyone who has made this film a reality.
