The soul of this movie is the soul. It is praised, recoginized for its suffering and its joy. The movie depicts the choices we make, as we live. It avoids the trap of being maudlin, providing a very recognized challenge for everyone to assess their lives in light of Ma Ma. Excellent, in every way.

In a time when hatred, usually blind and ignorant, rules so many hearts, the ministry of Bishop Tutu shines like a beacon, showing us the surest path to understanding, forgiveness, and repentence of our own prejudices and hatreds toward our perceived enemies. Though reality smacks of great danger in our current politics in the USA, the greatest danger is one of a continuation of those hatreds, refusal to listen to others, and the judgments that take the place of reason, compassion, and the search for common ground and comity. This movie shows us what and why; it is up to us to discover how and when, lest it be too late.
