This book has very smooth way of going back and forth in between scenes. Despite the structure it is very easy to see in my head. I like how the two main characters are fleshed out human being even though at first the description shows how surface level they are seen by others.
The writer really brought out who they are under the surface, and conveys why they seem to find a home in each other.
It's a quite book, that illustrates how we can stand naked and n vulnerable in front another person, have a million things you both enjoy talking about, enjoy sex deeply but still remain unseen.
I gave it 4 stars instead of five because some details given about certain places or activities were truly irrelevant. It seemed to be there just because it's a book and it's what is expected. It's like the writer step away from themselves to add it in. The reason I say this is it's a break in the general flow, eg details given when Connell went on the trip.
Overall it is a good read, they have a very tender and thoughtful relationship. And the writer did a good job at showcasing it's complexities.
