The Reignited Trilogy is the greatest remake of the classic Spyro games and I was super excited to get it. Although I was rather annoyed that the content for Ripto’s Rage and Year of theDragon had to be downloaded online and it took a lot of work to do so but at least it was worth it.
I just adored the improved graphics and the beautiful extra details added in. And the redesigns for the older dragons are very unique, which gives them their most distinctive personalities and easier to tell them apart. My only gripe of some changes were the baby dragons; they could have been more cuter to be honest.
other than that, I really love the redesign of Ripto, it makes him much more menacing and less goofy. I most especially love Zoé and Elora’s redesign and the famous “I’m a faun, you dork” scene was more playful and teasing which I find it more heartwarming and good natured when Elora corrected Spyro.
I also personally enjoyed the special features where you could switch between the remake of the music of the games and to the original in the PS1 games.
In the remake, the characters are much more expressive, the movements of Spyro whenever you explore the incredible worlds of the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Realms are so fluid. And many kudos to Tom Kenny for reprising our favourite purple dragon in all three contents.
Next to The Legend of Spyro Trilogy, Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is my most favourite and it’s so sweet and awesome to relieve my childhood of the original games I had played on the PS1 at my Nana’s house for the summer.
I have high hopes that we’ll meet Spyro, all of his friends and all of the other colourful characters again in a future game very soon.
